2008 "The Year of Iraq"

2008 was a challenging year for the Kelsey Family.  Justin and Daniel were in Iraq.  This was Daniel's second deployment and Justin's first deployment to Iraq.  They performed admirably and they are finally home, safe and healthy and we are very happy about that.  Both have finished their tours of duty, and have chosen not to continue with their adventures in the National Guard any longer.  Thank God!  So Christmas at the Kelsey house was wonderful, and we had everyone together at last. 

Mike drove many miles the 2 weeks before Christmas gathering up the boys from Hattiesburg Mississippi.  Two long trips down and back with only a few days between to be home while Sue was busy working as she was unable to get any time off.  She was just happy to see the boys back home. 

Daniel was a bit ill during his demobilization at Hattiesburg, and blames it on some bad Taco Bell in Kuwait.  Justin was well and went with his Dad down to Gulf Port to the Casinos, and found that free drinks and No-Limit Hold'em do not mix well.  He came home $180.00 short.  Dad gambled to, but only lost around $15.00.  Not bad for several hours of entertainment. 

Now with Christmas past, and the New Year started, the Kelsey boys all have big plans. 

Justin loves driving around in his new BMW Z3, convertible and is looking for a Duplex in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  With lot's of work to still do on his apartments in Waldron, he will be very busy.  His girl friend, Sarah is continuing her education to become a corporate lawyer. 

Daniel is already registered to return back to the University of Arkansas to finish his College education.  He has lots of money to spend, and he bought a nice little motorcycle that will help him get around campus.  His wife, Megan, has only one semester to finish her degree in Fashion Merchandising.  She is excited about finishing and getting to start her career.  They are also planning the Wedding that they missed out on due to Daniel's adventure in Iraq, and it will be in Jamaica, sometime in May. 

Brian held down Justin's apartments in Waldron while Justin was deployed, and has now found an apartment in Fayetteville which he will share with his girlfriend Heather.  Heather has a job applying her Nursing Aide skills, and will be going to school to learn Massage Therapy.  Brian is not sure what line of work he would like to do, but Fayetteville is a big and rapidly growing city with lot's of opportunities.  He is sure to find something that will suit him

We had a great Christmas with all the Family together.
